Manchester United are targeting Crysencio Summerville if Marcus Rashford moves on from the club. Following West Ham United's recent relegation from the Premier League , the Dutch international could be available for a cut-price fee of just £30 million.

The 24-year-old is viewed as the ideal successor to Rashford, who has spent the last year and a half playing away from Old Trafford with Barcelona and Aston Villa . West Ham are reportedly willing to cash in on the former Leeds attacker provided their valuation is met, according to The Guardian.

Meanwhile, Rashford is scheduled to report back to Carrington following his post-World Cup holiday. As things stand the academy graduate is expected to integrate into Michael Carrick's squad despite being out of favour.

The forward's long-term future in Manchester was originally thrown into doubt after a rift with Ruben Amorim. That fallout sparked a brief loan spell at Villa , before he spent a full season on loan at Barcelona, helping the Catalan club capture the La Liga title.

Hansi Flick's outfit chose not to activate the buyout clause in the 28-year-old's agreement. This means that, as things stand, Rashford will be brought back into the United fold, though the club's priority remains selling the attacker.

The forward, who has been on World Cup duty with with England, has two years left on his existing contract. However, his reported £17.5million-per-year wages represent a major obstacle for potential suitors.

Summerville enjoyed a standout World Cup with Oranje before their surprising elimination in the round of 32 at Morocco's hands. He netted twice and registered two assists across four appearances at this summer's finals but was unable to convert his penalty during the shootout defeat to the African side.

He managed only five goals and two assists during a disappointing campaign in East London that witnessed the Hammers endure their first season in the second tier of English football for 14 years.

Mateus Fernandes has already departed through the London Stadium exit as United watched their pursuit of the 21-year-old prove fruitless when Tottenham Hotspur swooped for the Portuguese midfielder.

Carrick's outfit responded by securing the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as the midfield was strengthened with top-flight know-how.

United at least know when Rashford will return after England's defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final. Thomas Tuchel's men will play France in the third-place playoff on Saturday, meaning Rashford could be back a day earlier than planned.
