Leeds United relegation odds outlined as pre-season tour begins in USA

Bookmakers have set out relegation prices for the new Premier League season as Leeds United begin pre-season, offering an early read on survival prospects. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the numbers land as Daniel Farke’s side prepare for their first friendly.

Leeds are in the USA for a tour and open against Wrexham at 12.30am UK time on Sunday.

Sunderland and Liverpool follow, then home friendlies with RB Leipzig and FC Augsburg, either side of a meeting with Manchester United in Dublin.

After Augsburg, the league campaign starts away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, 22 August, the club’s second season back in the top flight.

Forest finished fifth-bottom last term after using four managers, one point above Tottenham, and three behind newly promoted Leeds, who ended two clear of Crystal Palace.

Leeds were two short of both Everton and Newcastle United and seven behind fellow newcomers Sunderland, whose seventh place brought Europa League football.

In early relegation markets, Arsenal are 1000-1 to go down, Liverpool and Manchester United 750-1, Chelsea 150-1, Aston Villa 100-1 and Tottenham 50-1.

Those prices sketch the bookmakers’ initial view of the division as the summer schedule gets under way.
