Liverpool have been handed a blow on Saturday during the club's pre-season clash with Sunderland in the United States.
Only seven minutes into the match, defender Joe Gomez went down and immediately required treatment from staff.
The 29-year-old was captured shaking his head before ultimately opting to come off the pitch.
Kostas Tsimikas then took over the armband for the Reds, who, minutes after the substitution, managed to open the scoring via Kieran Morrison.
