Melvine Malard ‘to join’ Chelsea from Manchester United

Melvine Malard is set to join Chelsea from Manchester United, with the fee reported at close to €1m, about £850,000.

The Guardian reported the move on Tuesday, with AFP later confirming it.

The 26-year-old France forward would reunite in London with international team-mate Sandy Baltimore and former Lyon coach Sonia Bompastor.

Malard moved to United in 2023 on a season-long loan. Lyon then sold her permanently to the Red Devils in 2024.

She scored four goals for France in qualifying for the 2027 World Cup and has 41 caps and 14 goals for her country.
