Man United transfer odds as club enter race to sign Roma target Crysencio Summerville from West Ham

Manchester United are expected to consider a move for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville if Marcus Rashford leaves this summer, with the Dutchman likely to cost around £30m. United see Summerville as the right kind of left-sided forward to replace the England international but has some competition from Serie A to get the winger's signature.
West Ham, newly relegated to the Championship, are open to selling the 24-year-old if a suitable offer arrives. Summerville, who featured in the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, has three years left on his contract. As things stand, it is Serie A side Roma who are the firm favourites with the bookies at evens with William Hill to acquire his services while United have shortened to as low as 3/1 with the bookies while bet365 have Michael Carrick's side at 6/1 to make the signing.
Rashford’s situation remains uncertain following a breakdown in his relationship with United, which led to a six-month loan at Aston Villa from January 2025 and then a season-long spell at Barcelona. While there is now an uneasy truce and he is expected to start the campaign at Old Trafford, United would still prefer to move him on - either permanently or on loan - with two years remaining on his £17.5m-a-year deal. The main obstacle is finding a club able to finance the move.
United have already spent heavily this week, landing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined initial £82m, but they still want to add a third midfielder. Michael Carrick is said to like Roma’s Manu Koné, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, though fees in the £60m-£80m range make any deal for that trio unlikely.
With Sunday’s World Cup final between Spain and Argentina bringing the tournament to a close, attention will soon swing back to club football - training camps, pre-season friendlies and the inevitable transfer chatter. As noted yesterday, with the World Cup noise fading, Roma’s focus is reportedly narrowing to a handful of targets, and one of the most interesting is West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville’s output at the London Stadium hasn’t exactly leapt off the page with just 10 goals and five assists in 84 Premier League appearances but the 24-year-old has still put himself on Roma’s radar. An inverted winger who thrives in tight spaces and enjoys taking defenders on, he looks a natural fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s style.
A move to Rome, alongside the likes of Donyell Malen and Paulo Dybala, could be what finally unlocks his ceiling, but it would still be a calculated risk with a €45m bid being readied according to reports.
Before any formal approach to West Ham, though, Roma reportedly want assurances from the player. And rather than letting the situation drift for months, the club are said to have set a make-or-break deadline over the next week or so.
