Chelsea transfer stance on selling £54m star to Liverpool or Man City

Chelsea believe they are capable of raising significant funds from the potential sale of Pedro Neto.

The Portugal international joined the Blues from Wolves two years ago ain a deal worth more than £50m.

Neto has shown only flashes of his potential during the course of two chaotic years at Stamford Bridge during which he has seen a number of managers come and go.

The constant upheaval has seen a clutch of players join the club and rival him for a position on the flanks.

Neto’s best run of form since his move to west London arguably came during Enzo Maresca’s time in charge and the newly installed Manchester City boss is understood to be keen on a reunion.

Liverpool, too, are monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation while club in Saudi Arabia maintain a long-standing interest.

Chelsea, for their part, according to the Daily Mail, are not actively pushing for a sale but believe they could generate a major profit were they to part company with Neto.

With the majority of Europe’s leading club’s scouring the market for top class wingers, Chelsea believe prices have already been significantly inflated this summer.

RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain are both asking for fees well in excess of £100m for Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola.

Indeed Chelsea, themselves, blew Arsenal out of the water and paid £117m to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, breaking the British transfer record in the process.

Neto is not currently on Chelsea’s tour, which has started in Sydney, Australia, as he is still having downtime after representing Portugal at the World Cup.
