Alan Shearer had to rush back from the World Cup to watch daughter Hollie marry her rugby-playing partner. The ex- Newcastle star's second-oldest child tied the knot with England star Joe Marchant in Winchester.

The pair got engaged in November 2024 having dated for two years. Hollie then moved to France with her beau when Marchant signed for Stade Francais.

Shearer had been on co-commentary duties for the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina last weekend. He swiftly returned to the UK to join the celebrations at the Royal Oak in Winchester.

The wedding party enjoyed the festivities in The Royal Oak pub, which was built in 1002.
