a 100-88 victory

over the Detroit Pistons in a

2026 NBA Summer League

matchup at Thomas and Mack Center on Wednesday afternoon.

Impressive performances from their two most recent first-round picks played a pivotal role in the Suns’ success. The

2025 No. 10 overall pick

, Khaman Maluach, scored a team-high 23 points and added a game-high 15 rebounds, while the

2026 No. 30 overall selection

, Koa Peat, contributed 19 points.

2025 second-round pick

, was next with 22 points, eight rebounds and one steal. Javonte Cooke furnished 12 points and five boards.

The game did have a bit of a rollercoaster quality to it, as the Suns saw a 27-13 lead after one quarter whittle down to four by the start of the final period. However, Phoenix nailed down the win with an impressive 11-1 run over the final three minutes to win going away. The Suns held the Pistons to a combined 27 points in the first and fourth quarters while outscoring them in the paint, 52-36.

Brice Williams paced the Pistons with a game-high 24 points, adding six rebounds and four assists. Isaac Jones generated an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double.

The Pistons return to action Friday against the Miami Heat in a consolation game, while the Suns will meet a to-be-determined opponent on Saturday in a playoff matchup.
